Job Description
A well-established New Zealand bakery is seeking a skilled Bakery Chef to prepare a wide range of breads, pastries, cakes, and baked goods while maintaining exceptional quality standards. The successful candidate will measure ingredients, operate commercial bakery equipment, monitor baking times and temperatures, decorate bakery products, maintain food hygiene standards, manage stock levels, and ensure compliance with New Zealand food safety regulations. The role requires creativity, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Requirements
Certificate in Baking, Patisserie, Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Previous experience as a Bakery Chef, Baker, or Pastry Chef is an advantage.
Knowledge of bread, pastry, cake, and dessert preparation techniques.
Ability to operate commercial bakery ovens, mixers, and baking equipment.
Understanding of New Zealand food safety and hygiene standards.
Strong attention to detail and product presentation.
Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work early morning, weekend, and rotating shifts.
Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods.
Eligible to meet New Zealand employment and visa requirements.
