Job Description
A leading New Zealand engineering and infrastructure company is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to support major transportation, commercial, residential, and public infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing civil engineering works while ensuring compliance with New Zealand engineering standards and health and safety regulations. Responsibilities include preparing engineering drawings and technical reports, conducting site inspections, coordinating with contractors and consultants, monitoring project progress, managing budgets and schedules, resolving technical issues, and delivering projects safely, efficiently, and within quality standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
Knowledge of New Zealand engineering standards and construction regulations is an advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or equivalent engineering software.
Experience with project planning and scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera is preferred.
Strong understanding of structural, transportation, drainage, and land development projects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
Membership or eligibility for Engineering New Zealand is an advantage.
Eligible to meet New Zealand employment and work visa requirements.
