Job Description

A leading hotel and hospitality group is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Commis Chefs to join its professional kitchen team. The successful candidates will assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking high-quality meals, maintaining food preparation areas, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards, monitoring ingredient quality, preparing mise en place, supporting buffet and à la carte services, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen. This role provides excellent opportunities for career development within Australia's hospitality industry

Requirements

Certificate III or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent culinary qualification is preferred.
Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Kitchen Assistant, or Cook is an advantage.
Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and commercial kitchen operations.
Understanding of Australian food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
Ability to prepare ingredients, sauces, and basic menu items under supervision.
Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
Eligible to meet Australian employment and visa requirements.
